Our Farms
Unique, Mediterranean and high altitude vineyards
Castell de Vilarodona has 5 hectares spread over four Estates: Turó del Castell, Alba del Castell, Aubellons and Quintana del Castell.
The varieties planted are Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Macabeo and Montonec. The planting density is relatively low, developing precision viticulture to achieve the highest quality of the grapes and this is reflected in the wines of Castell de Vilarodona. Yields per hectare are between 6 and 8 thousand Kg/Ha. That is, barely 2 Kg per strain. Due to the different varieties and types of wines we make, we can carry out a harvest that lasts almost 2 months, from the end of August to the end of October.
All our vineyards are between 300 and 400 meters above sea level and just 10 miles from it. This combination results in an ideal microclimate for vineyard cultivation.

Old vines of Montonec
unique plots: Quintana del Castell
Old Montonec strains. With more than 60 years old, they are our most appreciated strains. A native variety that in this case produces a white grape with pink skin. The result is floral wines ideal for our ancestral Pétillant production from a unique estate.

Red grape vineyards
unique plots: alba del Castell
The Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo red grapes come from our Alba del Castell estate, all of which are more than 20 years old and in the process of becoming organic.

Old vines of Montonec
unique plots: Aubellons del Castell
The treasure of our lands, old vineyards of Montonec. A native variety highly valued by different Cava producers, particularly in our area. The result is floral wines with surprising complexity. Maximum varietal expression.

Viura or Macabeo vineyards
unique plots: Turó del Castell
A plot with our freshest, youngest and most dynamic variety. The result is soft, pleasant wines with perfect acidity. A joy that accompanies any good moment.
